Tristan Mowat
Meet the Director and driving force behind Edmonton Electrical, Tristan Mowat.
Growing up amongst the cane fields in the rural town of Ingham, 3 hours South of Cairns, Tristan knows how important it is to build strong relationships within the community. He has a strong family focus and a drive to provide consistent and professional service to all clients. As the owner and a third-generation electrical expert, Tristan brings a deep-rooted passion for the industry and a commitment to excellence. His dedication to hard work, trustworthiness, and loyalty is not only a reflection of the company’s values but also a testament to the family’s enduring legacy in the electrical business. Tristan has built reputable, long-lasting relationships with many local businesses in the construction industry, working alongside them seamlessly.

Greg Turnbull
Meet the founder of Edmonton Electrical, Greg Turnbull.
Greg has a long and rich history within the Electrical Industry spanning nearly 50 years. Following in his Father Martin’s footsteps, Greg commenced his electrical career at the age of 16 in Mareeba. Fast forward a few years, after working in an electrical partnership for some time, Greg and his wife Adele went out on their own and established Edmonton Electrical in 2000. Over the years, Greg has worked closely with many trusted builders, companies, businesses and locals spanning various locations from Townsville to the Torres Strait and everywhere in between. Greg has seen many young men and women through their electrical apprenticeships by employing and mentoring them, through work experience, and by teaching at the TAFE Cairns Campus. Greg has built strong and trustworthy relationships with many people across North Queensland. He is a well-known and respected businessman, larrikin and mate to many in the Cairns and Tablelands region.
In 2012, Greg took on Tristan Mowat as an Electrical apprentice. Greg and Tristan have worked closely over the years further building professional relationships and growing Edmonton Electrical together. In 2023, Tristan and his wife Monica, Greg’s eldest daughter of 3, took over the Company. As the new owners and third-generation electrical experts, Tristan and Monica’s vision is to continue growing the Company, build new relationships and provide a highly professional and reliable service to all existing and new customers alike.
Monica Mowat
Meet the Co-Director Monica Mowat.
Monica, the Daughter of Founders Greg and Adele Turnbull has grown up surrounded by all things electrical. Some of her earliest childhood memories involve being in the workshop and going to worksites with Dad (Greg) and her sisters. Growing up, Greg would often ask Monica and her two younger sisters Kirsten and Stephanie who would like to become an Electrician like him one day. As the girls grew and stepped into other careers it seemed as though Greg would not have a daughter to pass his legacy onto. Fortunately Monica met her Husband Tristan in 2011 and he quickly became the son Greg never had. Tristan started working for Greg not long after in 2012 and is now the proud owner of Edmonton Electrical.
Monica has a career background in Government Service Delivery, and is now Edmonton Electricals Administration and Communications Expert. She provides support to the Company by handling offsite office tasks, purchasing and ordering, invoicing and liaising with existing and new clients. Monica is always happy to help and go the extra mile to assist in any of your electrical enquiries.
